Thea Sofie Loch Næss
A Journey at the Première · The Ugly Stepsister · The Rebirth Magazine
Thea Sofie Loch Næss is a Norwegian actress known for her roles in both Scandinavian and international films and TV series. She gained recognition for her performance in The Last Kingdom as Skade on HBO, and has since starred in So Long, Marianne, La Palma, and the darkly twisted The Ugly Stepsister — which premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January 2025. Photogenic and charismatic: two words that perfectly define the Norwegian actress.

The Ugly Stepsister
A darkly twisted reimagining of the Cinderella tale, directed by Emilie Blichfeldt. Thea Sofie portrays Agnes — a role that demanded complete physical and emotional transformation. The film premiered at Sundance on January 23, 2025, and released in Norwegian cinemas on March 7, 2025.
Being part of her journey for the premières at the Movie Theater in Oslo was absolutely a very nice and pleasant experience. Two days, two photoshoots, two different looks.
Day 1 — Look 1
Richard Quinn · Theater Caféen Oslo · Helene Algrøy

Take One
Vana Perisa was thinking about how the look could be a nice presentation of the character in the movie for the première. After several moodboards, there was only one answer: Thea Sofie in Richard Quinn.
The first look seems like a fairy in the Richard Quinn gown. Black is very official — but with Richard Quinn, black is a sign of elegance and femininity. Clic clic… the lens loves taking pictures of Thea Sofie on set.
“Photogenic and charismatic — two words that define the Norwegian actress.”

On the Covers
Thea Sofie Loch Næss has made notable appearances in the fashion and magazine industry. In January 2025, she was featured in Vogue Scandinavia, discussing her experience at Sundance. She also graced the cover of Costume Magazine’s September–October 2024 issue for her role in So Long, Marianne.
We also wrote about the collaboration with Norwegian magazine Costume last year. Her presence in V Magazine (2019) and Elle Norway (2020) further cemented her status in the fashion world.
Day 2 — Look 2
Richard Quinn · Hotel Continental Oslo · Modern Princess

A Modern Princess
Vana wanted to take another direction for Day 2 — showing the Norwegian actress in an iconic look with different hair and make up. Since it was about the character Cinderella, she wanted to give a modern princess look with Richard Quinn.
Inspired by Audrey Hepburn, Princess Olympia of Greece, Kitty Spencer, the Princess of Wales, and the Duchess of Sussex. A fresh look from Day 1 that showed how much potential Thea Sofie has for a red carpet.
“Black is very official — but with Richard Quinn, black is a sign of elegance and femininity.”

Her Philosophy
Thea Sofie Loch Næss’s personal philosophy revolves around authenticity, growth, and artistic exploration. She values authenticity over external validation, choosing roles based on passion rather than pressure. She sees discomfort as part of growth and actively seeks roles that challenge her emotionally and physically.
She has a spontaneous and free-spirited approach to life, enjoying the journey rather than obsessing over outcomes — and values deep human connections and storytelling as a way to understand different perspectives.

Happy Women’s Day.
What a journey.
What defines Thea Sofie Loch Næss is representing the most relevant woman today at The Rebirth of the Princess. We were very satisfied about the result — respecting her identity while changing the style is challenging, but we saw how amazing it was when the look gave another perspective of what Thea could have for her next journey.
Thank you again Thea for this amazing journey, and thanks to the team and Hotel Continental for making this journey so special!
