Fashion & Photography — Vol. 7
Costume Norway · Summer 2025 · Akuol Deng Atem · Hvaler
It was with great pleasure and excitement to know that some of our items at the store would be featured in Costume Magazine for the summer issue. The lens of Desiée Mattsson is as precious as photography means for the store — we love her vision and the way she always makes pictures timeless and very aesthetic. The cover and cover story is made with the talented model Akuol Deng Atem.

The Cover — Summer 2025
Akuol Deng is originally from South Sudan, born in Ethiopia and grew up in Nakuru, Kenya. She has worked with amazing designers and photographers such as Sarah Burton, Olivier Rousteing, Demna Gvasalia, Rafael Pavarotti, and Joan Braun.
Hvaler was the perfect place to shoot this cover story for Costume Magazine — a municipality of a group of islands in the southern part of Østfold county in Norway. Very poetic and artistic, making movement part of the photoshoot.
“Very poetic and artistic — making movement part of the photoshoot. A special summer issue.”

Christopher Esber
Akuol Deng appears under the lens of Desiée Mattsson in a dress by Christopher Esber, making that moment truly timeless. The editorial for this issue shows the seaside with a nice colour palette that makes Akuol Deng look iconic — revealing even more the authenticity of Hvaler.

When Desiée Mattsson’s Talent Meets Art
Clic clac! A nice focus on the accessories for the cover story — this is where the magic happens between the expertise of photographer Desiée Mattsson and the artistic team. A nice angle shot with the Defaïence golden necklace.
Probably one of the most inspiring pictures we saw with Defaïence jewelleries, mixing tones and elements. Akuol Deng looks absolutely stunning with the Defaïence collection in white.

A special summer issue.
Timeless. Iconic. Hvaler.
This summer issue is not just a collector — it could absolutely be a special edition by the variation of pictures, styles, and locations. We are so amazed by the vision that the editorial took for the cover story.
